Logging On
Internet Explorer, Chrome, Edge (Chromium), or FireFox
To launch Wands you must first install the Wands Launcher application. The installation is as follows:
- In a browser connect to your normal Oracle E-Business Suite URL and logon
- From the list of responsibilities select the “Wands” item. Please note this is the default responsibility name but it may have been customized in your installation. Please check with your system administrator.
- The Wands home page should open and you should see a message telling you to “Download Wands Launcher”. Click the button to Download the Wands Launcher.
* This page will also download a wands_launcher.insight file automatically. Please disregard this prompt until we have the Wands Launcher installed.
- Run the downloaded installer file insightwands_launcher_installer.exe
- Select the installation directory for the Wands client files (or accept the default)
- Select the client update option (or accept the default)
- Automatically Update Client: Check the version of installed client and download the latest version from EBS server if out of date
- Manually Update Client: Skip version check just launch the installed version
- Once this application is installed, you can navigate back to Wands home page and refresh the page (press F5).
- This will redownload the wands_launcher.insight file. You can now click on that file and the Wands application will launch.
Ensure the popup blocker has been disabled for your EBS Url
To install the Wands application under the Program Files directory you must run insightwands_launcher_installer.exe as Administrator
The following command Line parameters can be specified:
/LOG=installer.log – create a log file when running the windows installer
/VERYSILENT – no dialogs or confirmations, default values are used
/NOUPDATE – forces the no client update check install option (used with /VERYSILENT)
/CUSTOMAPPDATA – displays the page to specify a custom appdata folder (log files etc.)
