Wands Launcher

The application is launched from inside the Oracle E-Business Suite. To run the application, you must install the Browser Addon for a supported Browser. The installation is as follows:

Chrome

1. In a browser connect to your normal Oracle E-Business Suite URL.
2. Enter your Oracle user name and password.
3. From the list of responsibilities select the “Wands” item. Please note this is the default responsibility name but it may have been customized in your installation. Please check with your system administrator.
4. The Wands home page should open and you should see a message telling you to install the plugin
5. If you click “Add Wands Launcher to Chrome”, you will be taken to the Chrome App Store where you can install the Extension.
6. Please follow the “After plugin is installed” section below.

Firefox

1. Download the Add-on from the Wands Location
2. Open Firefox and navigate  to “about:addons”
   
3. Drag the .xpi add-on file you just downloaded to the Web browser Address bar. This should prompt you to add the add-on to FireFox. Click “Add” and the plugin should be installed.
   
4. Please follow the “After plugin is installed” section below.

Edge (Chromium)

1. In a browser connect to your normal Oracle E-Business Suite URL.
2. Enter your Oracle user name and password.
3. From the list of responsibilities select the “Wands” item. Please note this is the default responsibility name but it may have been customized in your installation. Please check with your system administrator.
4. The Wands home page should open and you should see a message telling you to install the plugin
5. If you click “Add Wands Launcher to Chrome”, you will be taken to the Chrome App Store where you can install the Extension.
   1. Edge Chromium uses the Chrome App store for its apps.
6. Please follow the “After plugin is installed” section below.
   

Internet Explorer

To launch from Internet Explorer, you must install the Wands Launcher application. The installation is as follows:

1. In a browser connect to your normal Oracle E-Business Suite URL.
2. Enter your Oracle user name and password.
3. From the list of responsibilities select the “Wands” item. Please note this is the default responsibility name but it may have been customized in your installation. Please check with your system administrator.
4. The Wands home page should open and you should see a message telling you to “Download Wands Launcher”. Click the button to Download the Wands Launcher. *This page will also download a wands_launcher.insight file automatically. Please disregard this until we have the Wands Launcher installed.
5. Once the file downloads, you should save it to a location on your machine. Then double-click or run the file. *Please note that this does not need to be ran as an administrator on the computer.
6. Once this application is installed, you can navigate back to Wands home page and refresh the page. This will re-download the wands_launcher.insight file. You can now click on that file and the Wands application will launch. *The wands_launcher.insight file does not need to be ran as an administrator.

After Plugin is installed in the browser

1. If you are not on the  Wands home page, then please navigate to it. If you are already on the Wands home page, then please refresh the page or click the button that say “Refresh Wands EBS page”.
2. After coming back into the Wands home page, you should see a screen telling you to install the “wands 6.3 launcher.exe”. Download the file and save it. Then you should run the “wands 6.3 launcher.exe” file. This will popup a screen very quickly and then go away. You will then want to refresh the Wands home page
