Troubleshooting
The initial download of the files required to launch the application will take some time the very first time you launch a version. If the files do not start downloading please type in /nSU53 in the command box directly after clicking the launch button to check for any missing authorizations. The files are large as they contain the Java runtime, the benefit of which means that no pre-installation of software is required. All subsequent launches of the same version will be immediate. However, should you experience a problem with launching a version after waiting for the downloads to complete please perform the following steps to resolve any issues:
- Close Excel
- Open the task manager by using the keys ctrl-alt-del
- Click the details tab
- Scroll down and look for an Excel.exe or an wands.exe process
- Select each process and click the End Task button
- Close the task manager
- Click the launch button on the SAP GUI Wands launch transaction again
