Dropbox

Shared Templates allows you to use Dropbox as your file storage Drive.

When using Dropbox as the selected Drive Type, the minimum required client Java Runtime Environment version is 7 update 45 or higher.

Setup and Authorization

Before initiating the setup you must identify a single Dropbox.com account that will be used to store all the Shared Templates Drive files for the specific environment. Using the Dropbox option does not require that every user owns and configures a Dropbox.com account with the Shared Templates Drive.

The following setup is only performed once and then enables the use of the Shared Templates Drive for all users.

  1. Select Dropbox as the Drive Type from the System Administrator Configuration Options form, save your selection and launch Shared Templates.
  2. To allow Shared Templates access to your Dropbox account, you need to authorize linking the Wands Shared Templates Drive application to your Dropbox account:
  3. Click the dropbox.com link, this will launch the Dropbox authorization page using your workstations default internet browser:

You might be required to login first; although we support the use of both Personal and Business account types, we strongly recommend that you use a Business account not associated with an individual.
  4. Click “Allow” to authorize The Shared Templates application.
The Wands Shared Templates Drive application will only have access to its own folder, Apps > Wands Drive inside your Dropbox, it does not have access to any files or folders outside this location.
  5. Once you authorize access you will be presented with an authorization code, copy the code:
  6. Paste the authorization code into the Dropbox Setup form and click Save:
  7. The code will be validated and if verified you will have access to the Shared Templates feature.
  • Do not modify the Shared Templates Dropbox application folder.
  • Do not manually create, rename or delete any files in the Shared Templates Dropbox application folder.
  • Ensure that you maintain sufficient free space in your Dropbox account.
