RDM User Options

Configure your user preferences.

General Options

Option Description
Validation Select the level of validation required when executing a RDM template
Validate, Confirm and Execute

The template is validated to ensure it is correct and can be processed. Validation errors will be highlighted for correction before execution can continue. Next confirm the number of reports to be generated and output files created. This option provides the most validation and requires more user interaction and therefore the longest time to complete execution. This option is preferred for new or updated templates.
Validate and Execute

The template is validated and executed immediately if no validation errors are encountered. This option is recommended for updated templates.
Execute Only

Perform no validations on the template, only execute it. This provides maximum performance on large templates that are seldom changed and that have been previously validated. If the template data is invalid and cannot be processed the execution will fail.
Local Output Processing Option to perform processing of RDM reports using a local temp folder when distributing output to a network output folder. Improves performance of report generation when a network output folder has performance constraints; this option is disabled by default.

Email Settings

Option Description
Email Client The email client that is installed on your computer.

Microsoft Outlook – uses the Microsoft Outlook Client to create and send emails.

SMTP – uses the defined SMTP server settings to create and distribute emails.

Unsupported – email functionality will not be used.
Draft Email Only Applicable if the Microsoft Outlook email client is selected. If checked the distribution email is saved in the Drafts folder without being automatically sent. Once reviewed or updated the email must be directly sent from Outlook.

Address Book Options

Option Description
Address Book Client The email address book client to be used. This is used to get the list of address books and corresponding email addresses. This does not have to match the Email Settings Client, currently only supports Microsoft Outlook.
Default Address Book Choose which Address Book is used when opening an email address list. Large Global address books may require extended time to load when launching the RDM create wizard.

The address book entries are only loaded once per RDM session. If email addresses are added or removed from the selected address book, these changes will only be reflected when RDM is launched again.
