Table Security
Table security is specifically for Reports Wand database tables, but as an added level of security, is only manage from the Wands Administrator user permission.
Reports Wand Table Security allows Wands Administrators to build a list of restricted tables, that cannot be used by Reports Wand Administrators to create report definitions. Similarly, Reports Wand Users will be unable to run any report definitions previously written with SQL referencing the restricted tables, or views, based on the restricted tables.
- Open Table Security Manager
- Search for database tables you would like to restrict access to.
- Add the selected database tables to the right-hand table.

- Click Next to complete the process and view the summary.

As the Table Security Manager loads all database tables from Oracle e-Business Suite, the initial caching of the dialog may take a short time to load.
Impact
| Reports Wand Administrators | Unable to create Reports Wand report definitions with restricted tables. |
| Reports Wand Users | Unable to run report definitions previously created using restricted database tables or database views based on restricted tables. |
Requirements and Setup
This feature requires a custom database table and sequence to be installed. This can be done as part of the Wands for Oracle installation or upgrade on the application server, or by using the database table script below.
The following changes can be made to the script:
- You can modify the script to change the ownership of the table. If you choose to do so, ensure the APPS database user has SELECT, UPDATE and DELETE privileges on the table and create the required synonym to allow the APPS user to access the table without having to fully qualify the table name using the table owner.
- The tablespace (APPS_TS_MEDIA) used in the script can be modified to suit your system.
APPS.XXE4A_RW_TABLE_SECURITY
CREATE TABLE APPS.XXE4A_RW_TABLE_SECURITY (
ID NUMBER(15) NOT NULL ENABLE,
OWNER VARCHAR2(128 BYTE) NOT NULL ENABLE,
TABLE_NAME VARCHAR2(128 BYTE) NOT NULL ENABLE,
CREATED_BY NUMBER(15) NOT NULL ENABLE,
CREATION_DATE TIMESTAMP(2) NOT NULL ENABLE,
CONSTRAINT XXE4A_RW_TABLE_SECURITY_PK PRIMARY KEY (ID) ENABLE)
