System Administrator User Permissions
For a user to be able to access and Wands application you must perform the following steps:
- Assign the Wands responsibility to the users’ Oracle E-Business Suite user name. The new responsibility will be created during the installation process.
- As an Wands system administrator, launch the application and navigate to the following option in Excel: Wands | Admin Options | User Permissions.
- Follow the instructions below to assign products to your Oracle users.
Assign the available licenses to Oracle users. Use the filter box to find a specific user. You can sort the table by any column, for example, click the GL Wand heading and all the users that have the GL Wand product ticked will sort to the top.
Exporting User Information
You can save the user list to Excel using the Export button. If you filter the list, only the currently filtered items will be exported. If you wish to export only users that have a product assigned, simply choose the Hide Unlicensed predefined filter by clicking the filter button.
Importing User Information
Once you have exported a list of users you can use that template to modify your users as follows:
- Add new user ids to the list.
- Add permissions by entering an X in the correct product or permission column.
- Remove permissions be clearing the X from the applicable product or permission column.
Once you have made the changes, ensure that the user permissions Excel worksheet is active and open the System Administrator Options dialog. On the User Permissions tab, click the Import button. Review your changes and click save to apply them to the Oracle system.
Do not modify the structure of the user permissions Excel worksheet in any way.
Track Product Usage
To track which user logs on to the application use the “Track User Activity” option on the System Administrator Configuration Options.
