Drill Criteria – Average Balance
The Average Balance Drill Criteria Sheet functionality allows you to very quickly extract detailed average daily balances from the General Ledger. This is useful when large numbers of individual GL average balances are required as the values are returned faster than by using many individual “Average Get Balance” formulae. It is also very useful when average daily balances across a date range is required.
Average balance functionality will only work should average daily balances be configured in your Oracle EBS environment.
Average balance functionality will only work should average daily balances be configured in your Oracle EBS environment. To create a drill criteria sheet navigate toGL Wand | Execute Drilldown | Drill Criteria | Average Balance. This will create a new drilldown workbook with a criteria form on the first sheet.
Enter the parameters for the data that you wish to extract on the criteria sheet of this new workbook. The criteria are similar to the parameters of the Get Average Balance function. The exceptions are the Date parameter, which can accept a range of dates and the omission of the Balance Type parameter. Balance Type has been omitted as the drilldown will return and display the End of Date, Period Average To Date, Quarter Average To Date and Year Average To Date balances.
You can enter values manually by typing them in to the field, or select them from a list of values. To use the list of values simply double click the cell where you want the parameter cell or select the applicable cell and click the list of values button on the GL Wand toolbar. The list of values form will open (see the Segment List of Value sections for more details).
- Enter a date or a range of dates.
- Enter the required currency code.
- Pick “E” entered, “T” translated balances, or “C” converted (Or Total if using Oracle R12)
- Populate the segment values.
- Change the Ledger if required.
Double click Execute Drilldown, or use the drill to next level button on the GL Wand toolbar to execute the drill down. This workbook operates in exactly the same manner as a normal drill down. See the Execute Drilldowns section for more details.
