Convert using Discoverer Plus (.xml) Export
There are 4 main steps to converting a Discoverer Workbook using the the Discoverer Plus (.xml) Export
- Export the Discoverer Workbooks from Discoverer Plus
- Use the Discoverer Converter to convert the workbooks to Report Definitions
- Process the Report Definitions to create them in Oracle
- Assign the Report Definitions to Request Groups so that users can access them
Known Issue | Description |
---|---|
Meaningless Column Alias | Cross Tab Discoverer Reports will be converted with unconventional column names like E8123123 and E456342. These can be updated in the Reports Wand Administrator Template by providing user friendly column names to the SQL statement. |
Ambiguously Defined SQL Validation Error | If any column names are the same, regardless of their prefixed table alias, the Report Definition validation will fail with this error. Please provide a unique synonym for each column affected in the SQL statement by updating the Report Definition. |
Bind Variable List of Values Returns No Data | If the SQL used to generate a List of Values is based on a secure Oracle view, then no data will be returned by the SQL statement. Please replace the SQL statement with another from a base table or assign a valid Oracle Value Set to the bind variable when updating the Report Definition. This only applies to SQL used for for Bind Variable SQL List of Values and will be catered for in a future release. |
Integer Bind Variables | Custom SQL List of Values assigned to a bind variable are currently only supported with a Character datatype. Any Custom SQL List of Values generated using the Discoverer Converter that have a Integer datatype, will automatically default to a Character datatype. |
When processing the Report Definitions, any erroneous data will be caught in a validation stage. The Report Definitions can then be fixed accordingly in order for them to be processed successfully.
