System Administrator User Options
Set the default user options. Additionally, prevent the user from changing the option locking the applicable items.
Option | Description |
---|---|
In-Memory Options Enable | Enable or disable the in-memory database option. |
Maximum Age | Items from the In-Memory database that have not been accessed for the specified number of days will be discarded. |
Show product relevant responsibilities only | Only show the responsibilities for the current product e.g. in GL Wand only show General Ledger responsibilities. |
Include product usage with the overall company statistics | Determines if the user’s product usage will be included in the company statistics.
This option cannot be disabled during a trial of the product. |
Suppress unsafe exit warnings | If you you do not use the Exit button to quit the application you will be prompted with the warning at the next launch. Use this option to suppress that warning message for all users.
The Exit process performs a number of important tasks and users must therefore use this button to quit the application. We do not recommend that you enable this option to suppress the warning message. |
Show disabled | Include disabled segment values when discovering, expanding or exploding and in lists. |
Show secured | Include secured segment values when discovering, expanding or exploding and in lists. |
Treat end dated segments as disabled | If a segment value has a “From” or “To” date specified which falls outside the current date then treat it the same as a disabled segment value. |
Show segment criteria errors | If you enter segment criteria which does not exist in the list of segment values, the GL Wand function will return an error message. If you would prefer that the function returns an empty string (or zero balance when applicable) then disable this option.
By disabling this option you acknowledge that you are aware of the fact that GL Wand will return a zero balance in the Get Balance function when the segment criteria that you enter does not match any segment values. |
Show last calculated values | Shows the last calculated value, if available, when performing an action that triggers an Excel calculation (except using the refresh buttons which always calculates a new result). |
Auto refresh when workbook opened | By default a workbook will not calculate Wands formulas when it is opened. This option can be used to control this behavior. |
Disable Excel multi-threaded calculation mode | Disables Excel’s multi-threaded calculation mode during an Wands calculation. Due to an Excel bug, which has not yet been addressed by Microsoft, an error can occur during the calculation of larger, more complex reports. The error manifests as an “Out of resources” message or an Excel crash which occurs during the process where the results of Wands functions are returned to Excel. Disabling the multi-threaded calculation mode is a workaround to avoid this bug. The overall effect on calculation time should be minimal as the results are returned to Excel in-between processing other calculations.
The bug does not affect all reports and you may therefore uncheck this option should you wish. However if you experience the Excel bug then checking this option will be required. |
Calculation drills to new workbook | When enabled, drilling down from a function (calculation) will populate the results into a new workbook. |
Drilldown drills to new workbook | When enabled, drilling down from a previous drilldown report will populate the results into a new workbook. |
Double click enabled | When disabled, a double click in Excel will no longer open lists of values and execute drilldowns.
Changes to this option are only effective at the next logon or after changing responsibility. With this setting enabled, double clicking in a cell that does not contain an Wands drilldown function or list of values will always result in the cell being put into edit mode. Excel’s option to select the cells that are referenced by the active cell will be disabled. |
Add a dummy line for unsupported drilldowns | Adds a dummy line to a drilldown where the source line was not supported. |
Suppress zeros on drilldown | Exclude items in the balance drilldown report if the opening balance, dr movement, cr movement and closing balance are all zero. |
Email Client | Your choice of which email option to use. Can be Microsoft Outlook (uses the Microsoft Outlook Client to create and send emails) or SMTP (uses the defined SMTP server settings to create and distribute emails). If you do not intend sending email then set this option to Unsupported. |
SMTP Host | The SMTP host name; e.g. smtp.gmail.com. |
SMTP Port | The SMTP port; e.g. 465. |
SMTP Encryption Type | Select the applicable encryption type. |
Address Book Client | This is used to get the list of email addresses in your address lists. Currently only supports Microsoft Outlook. |
Default Address Book | Choose which Address Book is used when opening an email address list. |
SMTP requires authentication | Tick this option if your SMTP server requires authentication. |
